the best deep-conditioning hair mask for dry hair

As a curly girl and a DIY enthusiast, I love making my own masks and treatments.

Today I’m sharing with you my favourite and oh-so-easy to do deep conditioning mask. It easy, quick and contains only three ingredients that you probably already have in your kitchen – bananas, olive oil, and honey.  It’s perfect for every season but I mostly do it during winter when my hair is quite dry and brittle.

This really is the best deep conditioning and moisturizing homemade mask I have ever tried and I can’t wait for you guys to test it!

Ingredients

As I mentioned you will need only three ingredients for this easy breezy homemade hair mask:

– 1 overripe banana
– 100 /150 ml of olive oil
– 2 table spoons of raw honey

Mix everything in a bowl using a blender. Make sure there are no banana chunks (those are very difficult to wash out if not blended properly).

Why bananas?

Bananas are a crucial part of this deep conditioning mask as they are extremely beneficial to the hair and skin. The fruit contain lots of fiber, which makes them great energy boosters. Bananas also contain potassium, iron, Vitamin B6 and B12. This amazing fruit can regulate the blood pressure, help with improving the nerve system is a stress reliever and helps with anemia.

But what can bananas do for our hair? Banana masks help with dry hair and itchy scalp – a very common problem people face during winter. If used regularly this mask, bananas can help increase the moisture in the hair and smooth out frizz. It will also give your hair body and luster.

How to apply?

Apply on dry, dirty hair starting from your scalp. Put on a cap and a scarf and leave it for at least 30 minutes. I prefer to leave my deep conditioning treatments for at least an hour / hour and a half.

My hair felt super soft and moisturized after this treatment. I strongly recommend it to all of you who have curly, dry, damaged, bleached or dyed hair. Use this once every other week and you will see results! Also, it was easier for me to style my hair after this, which is always good news for me and my stubborn frizzy curly hair.

Hope you liked my quick homemade hair mask post and found it helpful. If you try this out please tell me if you were as impressed with the results as I was!
