Jenna Lyons is the creative director and president for J.Crew.
You can tell from afar that she is an introvert, but very passionate about what she does. She landed her first job at J.Crew when she was 21 as an assistant designer in men’s wear. She worked her way up and by 2003 she was J.Crew‘s Vice-President of Women’s Design. She does look quite intimidating but I guess when you are running a million dollar company you should be a master of the chronic-bitch-face. However, her take on life, fashion and style is very grounded and actually quite positive – wear what you want, work hard, have a good handshake and own up to your decisions.
And her cockiness.
And her look on life.
Actually, there is a lot you can learn just by looking at Lyon’s fashion choices and the way she dresses. The details are what makes her style so incredible – the combination of suede pumps and a silver clutch, the draped coat over the shoulders, the statement jewelry.
Even though most of the time she chooses straight and slightly boyish silhouettes, Jenna always adds a strong feminine detail – a fur collar, red stilettos, strong necklace or a bold lip. Simply fabulous! Truly a style inspiration.
